How to reduce chest fat for men?
What are Man Boobs?
Man boobs, also known as 'moobs' or moobies, are male breasts. While it is normal for men to have some breast tissue, man boobs occur when there is too much tissue, causing the chest to look and feel like large breasts. The tissue causing the man boobs could be fatty, glandular or a combination of both.
Chest fat or love handles: Which one is worse? We all know that love handles, chest fat and abdominal fat are excess fat, and excess fat is bad! However, the question remains; which one is worse?
Chest fat is accumulated in men on their chest. This fat is made up of 2 types:
Subcutaneous fat: This is the kind of fat that collects under your skin, so you can pinch it between your fingers.
Visceral fat: This type of fat accumulates around your internal organs, so it’s not visible. Both types of chest fat are equally dangerous for your health.
Chest fat in men is mainly made of subcutaneous fat and is the most typical sign of obesity. Chest fat in men may also be caused by secondary testicular dysfunction and hypothyroidism.
Chest and midsection fat and weight is a problem that many males face during their lives. It is a big problem that needs to be tackled at the root and not just on the surface of the skin. There are many exercises and workouts that we can do to burn these fats and build muscles in the chest and abdomen. But, if you don’t have the motivation to do these exercises on a regular basis, you will not be able to get the desired results.
Remember there is no such thing as spot/quick fat loss. You can lose fat only from the areas where you have excess fat and not from any random area of your body. So why do we get fat in particular areas of our bodies? There could be several reasons for that:
1) The Genes: If there is a genetic factor behind it (your family has a history of accumulating fat in a certain area of your body for some reason), then there's nothing you can do about it. It's something that's predetermined and nothing can change it.
2) Your Diet: Some people eat too much of fried food and unhealthy food such as pizzas, burgers, chips and other junk. These foods get stored in the form of fats in our body.
3) Hormonal Changes: High levels of certain hormones can irritate the cells that produce insulin and thus this makes the body insulin resistant and blood sugar level increases, leading to weight gain.
Gynecomastia & its Causes
Gynecomastia is a condition that leads to a non-cancerous growth of the breasts, which is caused by hormonal imbalances, genetics, unhealthy lifestyle habits or diseases that affect hormones.
Enlarged breasts in men is basically a condition that causes swelling in the breast of men causing the breasts to enlarge. The most common cause of gynecomastia is due to the intake of illegal drugs such as marijuana and steroids and also due to the change in hormone levels and abnormal growth of tissue present in the breast.
Chest fat is not very healthy for men, because it makes you look older, more tired and weak. Among men, it's common to find that the first place that they gain body fat is their chest. It's a sign of a man losing a battle with his weight. Thankfully, there are some simple steps you can take to get rid of man boobs.
The chest muscles, or the pectoral muscles, are used most often when pushing, pulling, lifting, throwing or swimming. These exercises are most effective when done three times a week. A variety of different muscle groups are worked during chest exercises, making them an important part of any workout routine.
How Men Can Reduce Chest Fat?
Chest is the name for the upper part of the human body that includes the pectoralis major, pectoralis minor, serratus anterior, clavicular (collarbone), sternal (upper part of the breastbone), and the intercostal muscles (muscles between the ribs). The pectoralis major muscle is the largest upper body muscle in humans. It is located in the anterior portion of the chest. The main action of this muscle is to pull the arm inward, towards the chest. Proper chest exercises for men will build strong pecs and help with posture.
The chest muscles are connected to the clavicle bone on each side of your body by tendons that run through holes in the collarbone. Therefore, adding strength to your pecs can also produce noticeable changes in your shoulders and upper back.
Well, the idea behind reducing fat is to burn more than you eat. To do that, doing some cardiovascular exercises is highly recommended. Cardio exercises help your body to burn calories even when resting. Regular cardio exercise will help you lose body fat overall. One of the common mistakes people do while training their chest is to overtrain it which leads to soreness and minor injuries.
Barbell Bench Press: Set your barbell on the rack and position yourself to take the medium grip on the bar. Lift the bar and hold it straight over your body as you breathe in by lowering the bar mid-chest. Breathe out as you return to your original position.
Pec Deck Machine: Adjust the seat so that the handles are the same height as your chest. Select how much weight you want to work with using the sliding pins. Sit down and grab the bar handles by bringing them towards one another as you exhale and contract your chest. Return to the original position with an inhale. Make sure to keep your elbows slightly bent.
Take Away
Especially in the present scenario, when society seems so obsessed with the concept of body mass index(BMI), it is obvious that each one of us wants to look good. While there are many ways that can contribute to our overall figure, working on our chest is usually neglected. We are focused on trimming down the stomach, arms, thighs and making sure that our butt area is firmed up. However, our chest is usually never given the same amount of attention.
This is actually a big mistake because it not only makes us look disproportionate but also diminishes our overall confidence level. The chest area holds a lot of stress because of our lifestyles today. Busy work schedules, an unhealthy lifestyle and stress do not help matters either. We all want to look good and feel good. So, we need to start giving our chest area the care and attention it requires.
