Relation between STDs and Erectile Dysfunction
Sexually Transmitted Diseases
STDs is an abbreviation for Sexually Transmitted Diseases. The same diseases can be considered as Sexually Transmitted Infections which are abbreviated as STIs. STDs or STIs are diseases or infections transmitted through sexual contact, developed by shared bacteria, viruses, or parasites. A disease or an infection related to the sexual transmission could be born then and there itself during sex between two uninfected persons who are subjected to earlier sex with other persons. In another way, the infected person may share a virus or parasite with an uninfected person during a sexual course. It is more of an uncertain infection, most of the STDs require a medical diagnosis.
There are various STDs namely HIV/AIDS-Human Immunodeficiency Virus(HIV), Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome(AIDS), Trichomoniasis, Scabies, Chancroid, Public lice, Molluscum Contagiosum, Lymphogranuloma Venereum, Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Genital Herpes, Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Syphilis.
Causes
Experience unprotected vaginal, anal, or oral sex could lead to Sexually Transmitted Diseases or Infections.
The STDs or STIs-related viruses, bacteria, or parasites could also be transmitted to the baby from the mother by pregnancy, labor, or nursing.
The sexual partnership with more than one, that too, without a condom, is the worst of the chances to develop Sexual Transmission Diseases or Infections.
Symptoms
STDs or STIs are rare to identify themselves. Most of them require a medical diagnosis. Most people with STDs do not develop any symptoms but can still infect others through sexual contact. The most common symptoms are warts on the genitals, skin infections, abdominal pain, rashes, skin lushes, immunity disorders, fevers, etc.
Erectile Dysfunction
The inability of men to raise their penis in response to their sexual urge is called Erectile Dysfunction. The inability of men to maintain the erected penis standstill throughout sexual intercourse is called Erectile Dysfunction. The impotent behaviour in male sexual orientation is called Erectile Dysfunction.
This impotence is a subject of failure in men due to depression, seriousness, hormonal dysfunction, genetic disorders, accidents, habits, contemporary conditions, etc. which is observed more in the modern-day generation. Hormonal imbalance causing low testosterone, high prolactin, and abnormal thyroid hormone levels can cause Erectile Dysfunction. The diseases like chronic kidney and liver damage would stop the sexual hormones from working properly. There are various conditions related to Erectile Dysfunction. Few of them are
Priapism: the untimely unwanted erection observed in the penis without sexual intention.
Premature ejaculation: Ejaculation that happens through the penis but not with the whole body's interest. This is subjected to erection way before the required age and is most common in men.
Sexual Dysfunction: the disability faced by men to enjoy sexual activity.
Peyronie's disease, hypogonadism, benign prostatic hyperplasia, gynecomastia are various other conditions causing erectile dysfunction.
STD causes Erectile Dysfunction
Certain STIs, like chlamydia, gonorrhea, untreated HIV, and viral hepatitis can sometimes cause infections in the prostate gland.
Chlamydia could infect the prostate, causing a severe condition called prostatitis, which can lead to Erectile Dysfunction. Chlamydia trachomatis is a bacterial infection that when the chlamydia enters the genital tract, can spread to nearby organs manifesting various forms like trachoma, lymphogranuloma venereum, nongonococcal urethritis, cervicitis, salpingitis, pelvic inflammatory disease. In males, chlamydia bacteria can infect the urethra, the tube that carries sperm out of the body.
In men, gonorrhea can cause a painful condition in the tubes attached to the testicles. It is a bacterial infection that leads to infertility. The bacterial attack may cause a man to be sterile, or prevent him from becoming a father.
HIV/AIDS-Human Immunodeficiency Virus(HIV), Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome(AIDS) is causing Erectile Dysfunction (ED) in men. The related research informs that around 40 to 60% of men with HIV may have some level of erectile dysfunction. Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) is the treatment to resist HIV/AIDs which have properties as a side effect to develop Erectile Dysfunction.
Hepatitis is an inflammatory disorder developed in the disease. There are three variant viruses in Hepatitis abbreviated as HAV, HAB, and HAC.
Symptoms are variable from time to time and person to person. They include yellowing of the eyes, abdominal pain, and dark urine. The trio Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C viruses all could lead to Erectile Dysfunction in men. Chronic infection with HBV is related to several psychiatric disorders including anxiety and depression. Hypogonadism and testicular atrophy are subjected to liver disease and can contribute to erectile dysfunction.
Trichomoniasis is a parasite causing Sexually Transmitted Infection(STI) leads to erectile dysfunction or prostate cancer. As a sexually transmitted disease(STD), Trichomoniasis can damage both partners at the same time.
Molluscum Contagiosum is a skin disease caused by the molluscum contagiosum virus(MCV) The virus causing STD or STI results in itching or tenderness in the area corresponding to genitals. The irk and irritation would take all the mood stimulation resulting in Erectile Dysfunction in men.
Take Away
Erection is a god-gifted energy providence, bringing the whole body force to a single body object at a time. The pleasure is healthy and heaven on Earth. The purpose of a man is to satisfy his woman better not to indulge with a lot of other women which is the major cause of Sexual Transmission Infections and Diseases. If one could not control his fate, he or she at least save themselves by following safety precautions like using a condom.
